SIM/NEBULA: SIGNAL IN RUDOLFINUM

divider

SIGNAL Festival is inviting you to our spectacular project titled SIM/NEBULA in Prague’s neo-renaissance jewel Rudolfinum. A 50-minute long video mapping on the interior of the Dvořák Hall was completed by an outstanding performance of the The Prague Radio Symphony Orchestra.

Save the dates of: 16., 17. and 18th February 2018.

The plot of the projection is divided into seven thematic parts set in the background of the visual show. The parts are connected by the leitmotiv of the life cycle, journey into the unknown and man’s relationship with his inner world on one side and the universe on the other side. These expressively poetic, futuristic visual poems depict the creation of a cybernetic organism in the acoustic waves of the classical music. From the organic form in the dark void through futuristic industry to the final massive light eruptions, SIM/NEBULA presents the birth of a new reality.

The uniqueness of the projects lays not only in the interior space chosen for the video mapping, but also in the connection of an visual show with a live classical music.

The orchestra, conducted by Jan Kučera, will perform Antonín Dvořák’s Symphony No. 9 “From the New World” (also known as “New World Symphony”), composed in 1893 while Dvořák was the director of the National Conservatory of Music of America, symphony poem “Vltava” by Bedřich Smetana, prelude called “Carnival” by Antonín Dvořák and Symphony “Pathetic” by Petr Iljič Čajkovský.

SIM/NEBULA was prepared in collaboration of 11 international artists from 6 different countries all around the world under artistic supervision of visial artist Amar Mulabegovič from the creative studio The Macula.
